Laxmi Vijaysankar is a Partner at Serling Rooks Hunter McKoy Worob & Averill LLP. Her practice is focused on the music and entertainment industries with an emphasis on sponsorships, endorsements, brand-integration and strategic partnerships for artists, fitness professionals and other talent. She advises on recording and music publishing matters, producer and mixer agreements, band agreements, merchandising, touring, book publishing matters, new and digital media issues, “gated” content deals, management agreements and several other music industry matters including copyright and trademark issues.
Prior to joining SRH in 2011, Ms. Vijaysankar was an associate in the corporate practices of Baker Botts LLP and Andrew Kurth LLP where she worked on mergers and acquisition transactions and counseled clients on securities law issues and corporate matters. She harnesses her corporate and securities law experience in her current practice and advises on music rights and catalog sales, financings and acquisitions, corporate structuring, executive employment agreements and other corporate matters within the entertainment industry.
Ms. Vijaysankar received her Bachelor of Laws from the University of Mumbai in 2001 and continued her legal studies at the Georgetown University Law Center earning her Master of Laws in International Legal Studies in 2005.
